The year ahead
Pro Cantu is starting the year with a running jump, having selected the most gifted choristers after a most rewarding auditioning season. The choir said goodbye to many longstanding members but they have paved the way for the fresh new voices and the results can only be excellent.
The main focus of this year’s activities will be on the two international tours when the choir will take part in two international competitions, as well as to get maximum exposure the only way they know how: CONCERTS!
The 75 strong choir is already hard at work attending rehearsals and spending time learning new music, which will be the repertoire they will use in the competitions to win over the judges.
The Tours
The tours are planned for June-July 2011, when Pro Cantu will tour England and the Netherlands, doing concerts along the way, and finally to Graz , Austria where they will compete in the International Grand Prix of Choral Music competition. Upon their return several concerts are being planned at various venues in the Western Cape and then more hard work will follow, leading to the Choir of the World Special Invitation Competition taking place in Llangollen, Wales in October 2011. This competition is only open to choirs who have won the much sought after ‘Choir of the World’ title in previous years and by special invitation only.
Knowing the effort, combined with talent, that goes into the making of a choir, and from all the awards and accolades Pro Cantu has brought home after similar competitions in the past, we wish them all the best and we are sure they will not disappoint and return home proudly with the highest honours.
The Music
All Pro Cantu’s CD’s are now available for purchase and download from the internet.
This has been done in conjunction with a music marketing company due to the demand for the music of Pro Cantu.
Keeping up with the demand of Cd’s, the recording and production, have proved to be a monumental task and the new method of procuring the music will make it a lot easier and more accessible.

The Concerts.
Pro Cantu’s first concert will take place on 5 May 2011, details and venue to be confirmed.
